Graduation Concert

Thanks so much to everyone who came to the concert and to those who watched online! I had so much fun performing the concert which was, as I said, the culmination of four great years at Yale and in the United States. The program I played (Bach – Sonata, Giuliani – Rossiniana, Albeniz – Mallorca, Tedesco – Sonata, Turina – Sonata) was challenging and like many school recitals it was full of new repertoire getting a first performance.

I performed the concert on my brand new guitar which was a pleasure to play. As much as I love playing my Alessandro Marseglia guitar, this new instrument allows me to make a more beautiful sound with less effort. Being slightly smaller (640 not 650mm) the guitar will take some getting used to but I felt comfortable enough on the guitar to play it in concert after owning it for less than a week.

The concert was recorded and filmed so I will get some excerpts up on the site soon. For now you will have to live with a nice picture that a friend of mine took of her computer screen during the live broadcast!

Thanks,

Simon

I was considering a Marseglia guitar, after playing one last year in Ireland. What guitar are you playing now? You have a great sound!

Hi Jerry, thanks for your comment! I am playing a Paul Sheridan guitar now but all of the recordings you hear on this site (including the video) are performed on the Marseglia. I am actually looking to sell the Marseglia right now. If you are interested send me an email and we can discuss it.

    Thanks,
    Simon
